The Two Rivers Renaissance Faire invites public, private, and homeschool educators and students to join us for our annual School Day: A Faerie Tale Quest, taking place Friday, January 30, 2026.

As students pass through the gates of New Market Village, they will step into the sights, sounds, and stories of 16th-century Europe—where history, legend, and imagination intertwine. Through an immersive, fairy-tale–inspired experience, students will explore the culture, creativity, and daily life of the Renaissance.

Throughout the village, students will encounter costumed characters representing the courts, arts, sciences, and literature of the era. Jousting knights, musicians, jesters, and magicians perform across stages and arenas, bringing the world of the Renaissance—and its stories—to life.

Using interactive Quest Stops, students will follow their own Faerie Tale Quest, engaging with hands-on activities, live performances, and historical demonstrations that illuminate this remarkable period of rebirth and discovery.

Artisans in period dress demonstrate Renaissance technology and trades through live presentations in pottery, leatherworking, blacksmithing, armor making, and more. Students may visit Queen Elizabeth I herself and earn the honor of knighthood, interact with pirates of Clan Darksail to learn about early pirate guns and cannon fire, or challenge classmates (or teachers!) at the archery range.

The Two Rivers Renaissance Faire invites all public, private, and homeschool educators and students to join us for our annual A Faerie Tale Faire! This event will take place on Friday, January 30st, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Admission is $2 per student/chaperone, and you will purchase your tickets at the window with the “School Day” sign—no pre-registration required. Keep your wristband for entry throughout the weekend!

Quest Booth & Faerie Tale Quest

Upon arrival, visit the Quest Booth near the front entrance to receive your Faerie Tale Quest Map and Questions. These materials guide students through self-paced quest stops around the village, encouraging curiosity, observation, and interaction.

At the completion of the quest, students will present their answers to Queen Elizabeth I and receive a special School Day token (distinct from the general public quest prize).

• Blacksmiths: Watch live demonstrations of Renaissance craftsmanship.

• School Day Welcome Kick-Off (Rapier’s Wit Stage) 10:30 AM

• Archery Range: Test your aim (additional cost applies).
